From dockstart to pump downwind
The Kobun 85 was developed to combine the energy of pumping with that of swells and waves. After a dockstart or rockstart on a suitable spot, it allows for chaining bumps and relaunching with pumping between descents.
Its program covers the dockstart, freeride pumping, long-distance pumping, and downwind on a small board, on lakes as well as at sea. It is aimed at practitioners who already master their starts and wish to explore new trajectories.
A compact shape, precise stances
The concave deck allows for better feeling of foot position and managing heel-toe pressure. You keep references under your feet to adjust your balance and steer the foil without looking at the deck.
Wider than the Skull 80, the Kobun 85 offers more space for foot placements. Its slight front rocker makes recovery after a touch easier, while its characteristic outline promotes grip before takeoff.
The integrated US carbon rails provide a 10 cm adjustment range to adapt the foil position to your stance and setup.
Lightness and stiffness for direct handling
The construction combines pre-impregnated carbon with a 20 mm Airex core to create a lightweight and rigid board.
This stiffness transmits foot movements to the foil with precision. During pumping, it provides direct feedback to adjust your rhythm; in the swell, it supports changes in foot placements and accelerations.
With an indicative weight of 1.25 kg depending on the finish, the Kobun 85 limits inertia while maintaining the responsiveness sought in a compact pumpfoil board.
Made in Savoie, in our workshop
The Kobun 85 is made in our KETOS workshop in Savoie. It is molded under pressure in an aluminum mold, with integrated US carbon rails in its structure.
From lamination to finishing, its manufacturing relies on our expertise in the design and production of composite parts.
A board designed for the wings KOBUN
The Kobun 85 was designed to accompany the KOBUN front wings, whose program combines glide, pumping, and maneuverability.
The Kobun 122 and 133 are particularly suited to exploit the small ripples on the lake and relaunch while pumping between the bumps. The Kobun 111 and 99 offer a more maneuverable behavior for experienced riders looking for tighter turns and more engaged sessions.
The choice of the wing depends on your level, your size, and the conditions of your spot. The Kobun 85 provides a compact platform to enjoy these different configurations.
Kobun 85 or Skull 80: which board to choose?
Both boards share a carbon construction and a concave deck that promotes precise handling.
The Skull 80 favors a shorter and narrower format for riders looking for a very compact board. The Kobun 85 adds width and a touch of tolerance for freeride, endurance, and downwind pumping.
Choose the Kobun 85 if you want to maintain the sensations of a small pumping board with more ease when the water surface becomes uneven.
Choose your finish
The Kobun 85 is offered in three finishes:
Standard: a finish that highlights the appearance of the carbon.
KETOS Model: a decoration among the designs offered by the brand.
Custom: a personalized decoration for a board that reflects your image.
Choose your deck coating
Adapt the contact under your feet to your preferences:
Non-slip in the varnish: a thin coating to directly feel the reactions of the board and the foil.
Full pad : a cushioned surface covering the deck to prioritize comfort.
Two-part pad : distinct cushioned areas under the feet.
The finish and coating selected influence the final weight of your board.
