After more than two years of development since the release of our now legendary 1570LD, the 166LD is set to shake up the long-distance pumping scene once again. Faster, more energy-efficient, and offering endless glide to explore new limits that were previously unattainable. During its initial testing, our rider Modjo smashed his 50km speed record in 3 hours and 2 minutes. That sets the tone!

A worthy successor to the 1570LD

We hesitated to call it the LE MANS 166 LD, as this wing is designed solely for records and speed, like the FORD GT40 and FERARI.

The 166LD follows in the footsteps of the legendary 1570LD, which made pumping history by setting speed records:

In 2024, Sébastien Saugy reached 16.8 km/h over one hour of pumping.

In 2025, Anthony Mauger (@Modjolafrite) confirmed this supremacy with an exceptional performance of 18km in 1 hour.

These feats established the 1570LD as the absolute benchmark, and the 166LD extends this legacy by pushing the limits even further.

When he first got his hands on the 166LD, Modjo shattered his 50km record in 3 hours and 2 minutes, non-stop. We couldn’t have imagined such a performance achievable just a few months ago.

A wing with exclusive performance

This wing is reserved for owners of ULTRA 2 and FORTRESS masts, to fully exploit the performance through the mast’s rigidity.

Despite its 1.66m wingspan, this wing can be launched by most good pumpers, though it’s not exactly a kite for everyone. A rare product, a season ahead of other wings on the market.
